The goal of Shonali’s Company Soulfood is to use the Macrobiotic approach to diet to raise a persons Wellness quotient.
Her Company’s mission statement: Our goal is to take people from \"Health to Wellness” by empowering customers to be independent regarding their health condition. We seek to do this by providing them options and choices in methods used to enhance their \"wellness” quotient. Macrobiotics – what is it? 
An approach that originated in Japan, but was developed and refined further in the USA by Michio Kushi, the Macrobiotics approach – where Macro means ‘large’ and Bios means ‘life’ – is a science which looks at diet from a holistic point of view. In hat, it centers around organic (as far as possible), unrefined and fermented (good bacteria) foods, which include whole grains, vegetables, beans, soups, fish, sea vegetables, pickles, sugarless desserts (made with natural sweeteners), & fruits. What goes out is junk foods, simple carbohydrates, sugar, red meat, artificial sweeteners and preservatives. 

The focus of macrobiotics is on prevention of lifestyle ailments and diseases and it seeks to keep the immune system healthy, by keeping the blood condition strong with the foods that are consumed.
