Dr. Anita Patil Deshmukh

Dr. Anita Patil Deshmukh is the Executive Director of Partners for Urban Knowledge and Action Research (PUKAR). A intensive Care Physician by profession with a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard University, Anita served as the faculty neonatologist at a teaching institute in Chicago for more than twenty years. She played a major leadership role within India Development Service, a pioneer organization in US, which supports small scale development projects across India. She relocated back to India five years ago to work in the development sector.  Anita has a great passion for working with youth and staunchly believes in participation, democracy and youth empowerment.
