Wing Commander Rajesh Upadhyay (Retd)

Wing Commander Rajesh Upadhyay was commissioned into The Indian Air Force as an Officer in 1993 as a fighter controller.

He served the IAF for almost 23 years in various sectors specializing as an Ace Fighter Controller. While reaching various milestones in his professional career, he developed himself as a better Chess Player by representing IAF at the National and International events from time to time. He also has the distinction of having the title of National Trainer duly certified by the World Chess Federation. He is also a Trainers’ Trainer in the field of NLP and has MBA degrees in the field of Finance and HR.

After taking voluntary retirement in 2016, he shifted to Mumbai to follow his passion of Chess where he makes a difference to people’s lives by training, teaching, coaching and playing Chess at International Standards and below. His uniqueness is the art of storytelling and connecting the dots with life and chess for which he is much liked by the very small children and higher age group adults. Not only does he follow his passion but also enables others to do the same. He has enabled his family to follow their passion; for his wife acting and for his children; in the field of Magic and Music.
