Free cleft-lip surgeries for poor patients

VIJAYAWADA: The Minister for Panchayat Raj, J.C. Diwakar Reddy, and the Minister for Municipal Administration, Koneru Ranga Rao, have complemented Sridhar Super-specialty Dental Hospital for the initiative it has taken in treating poor patients with cleft-lip.
Twenty-five children were identified in the screening held on October 31.
The craniofacial surgeon from Switzerland, Gerald Herick, conducted the screening tests at Sridhar Super-speciality Dental Hospital.
Of them, 13 were selected for operations at GSR Craniofacial Surgery Centre in Hyderabad, where the surgeon, G. Srinivasa Reddy, will conduct the operations.
The chairman of the hospital, A. Sridhar Reddy, explained to the Ministers about the reasons for cleft-lip and also about the free surgery camps being conducted by his hospital.
Dr. Sridhar Reddy said his hospital would conduct free camps and free surgeries for the benefit of poor patients every month.
