According to a recent study, patients with Irritable Bowl Syndrome (IBS) showed greater improvements and less bloating on taking the antibiotic, rifaximin. It is for the first time that a randomized double blind study has shown a continued effect of an antibiotic for IBS symptoms post-treatment.
