When Sanjay Geete started his Media initiative IamResilient! in 2007, he had
planned to promote the concept of bouncing back in life that is \"Resilience”. Little did
he know then that his personal Resilience would be put to test in the years to come.
Sanjay was diagnosed with Stage 3, Non- Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (a type of Blood
Cancer) during January 2011 & his battle for survival began. He has successfully
undergone 6 cycles of Chemotherapy treatment. From September 2011, his Non-
Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is in Remission & his journey as Cancer Survivor has begun.
Despite being busy with the management of his Doctor’s Appointments, Pathology/
Diagnostic tests, Hospitalisations for Chemotherapy, Nutrition and Diet, his wife
Sarita has carved a niche for herself as a leading Advocate & Legal Consultant in the
field of \"Deemed Conveyance and Re- Development of the Co- Operative Societies”.
Sanjay’s Cancer detection & treatment phase coincided with his daughter
Aishwarya’s standard XII Board and Engineering CET Examinations. She has now
managed to get admission into VJTI, the leading Engineering Institution in Mumbai.
Between January to September 2011 not only Sanjay’s life alone but his Wife’s &
Daughter’s lives were also put to the test of Resilience and they have proven that
they are individually and collectively Resilient. They qualify to be \"IamResilient!”.
Sanjay takes the beginning of my Cancer Survivorship as his new birth. The
interaction with Cancer has offered a new meaning & perspective to his life. He is
now a new Sanjay Geete with entirely a different take on life and hence Sanjay
Geete 2.0 is his new identity.
Sanjay has now founded a new initiative BeRESILIENT to support Cancer Survivors
& Families in their fight for survival. He believes that Knowledge about Cancer &
thorough Planning of the Treatment & Participation in it shall empower the Cancer
Survivors. Based on his personal experience of battling Cancer, he has published
BeRESILIENT Planner & Journal that is helpful to Cancer Survivors from their
Diagnosis stage through Treatment & Recovery stage to successful Survivorship
stage.
